Day-by-Day Itinerary

Days 1–3 — Uluru & Kata Tjuta (Red Centre)

Arrive in Uluru (or via Alice Springs) and settle into your lodge for your first Red Centre sunset. Enjoy sunrise at Uluru with a guided base walk and cultural interpretation, followed by an evening Field of Light or stargazing option. Spend another day exploring the domes of Kata Tjuta with the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge walk, ending with sunset over Uluru or Kata Tjuta.
Overnights: Desert Gardens Hotel; Sails in the Desert; or Longitude 131 (upgrade)

Days 3–5 — Kings Canyon (Red Centre Wilderness)

Drive through the desert to Kings Canyon for two nights in remote Outback scenery. Enjoy short sunset walks on arrival, then tackle the spectacular Rim Walk at sunrise (or choose an easier canyon-floor option). After exploring the area, transfer back toward Uluru/Alice for your flight north to Darwin.
Overnights: Kings Canyon Resort (glamping or lodge rooms)

Days 5–6 — Darwin (Top End Gateway)

Arrive in Darwin and settle into a relaxed waterfront hotel. Spend a day visiting the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, exploring Mindil Beach sunset markets (seasonal), or enjoying a harbour cruise.
Overnights: Mindil Beach Casino Resort or Adina Waterfront

Days 6–9 — Kakadu / Top End (Wetlands, Rock Art & Wildlife)

Continue into Kakadu National Park or onward to the exclusive bush lodge at Bamurru Plains. Explore the region’s world-famous wetlands through billabong cruises, floodplain safaris, and birding. Visit ancient Aboriginal rock art sites at Ubirr or Nourlangie, take short lookout walks, and optionally enjoy a scenic flight over Kakadu’s dramatic escarpments. A flexible day allows additional wildlife cruises or lodge activities.
Overnights: Cooinda Lodge or Bamurru Plains

Days 10–12 — Return to Darwin & Depart

Drive back to Darwin for onward flights. Add an extra night in Darwin or Kakadu if you prefer a slower pace or want more time on the wetlands.
