Apoka Safari Lodge

Apoka Safari Lodge sits within Kidepo Valley National Park, a vast and strikingly open landscape of golden plains framed by distant mountain ranges. Kidepo feels different from anywhere else in Uganda—drier, more expansive, and far removed from the country’s more frequently visited parks. The lodge’s stone architecture blends into the surrounding terrain, with views that stretch uninterrupted across the valley, reinforcing the sense of scale and isolation that defines this part of the country.

Wildlife viewing in Kidepo is defined as much by rarity as by abundance. This is the only place in Uganda where cheetahs are found, and sightings, while never guaranteed, are a defining reason to visit. The park also supports strong populations of lions, large buffalo herds, and species more typical of East Africa’s northern savannas, adding to the feeling that you are somewhere distinct. Game drives are quiet and unpressured, with vast areas explored without encountering other vehicles.
