The camp is a small group of tented suites raised on stilts above the channel, with copper basins and en-suite bathrooms facing the water, plus a family unit. There is a small pool, a fire pit and a two-storey Star Bed for a night out under the sky. It is in a private reserve, so night drives and off-road driving are allowed. Do not confuse it with the Savuti Marsh area of Chobe National Park, which follows park rules.
Activities include day and night game drives, seasonal guided walks and a hide on the channel, with boating and fishing only when there is water. Helicopter flights can be added. Wild dog, lion and elephant are seen on most stays, and roan and sable live in the area but are rarely seen. When the channel flows, elephants and buffalo gather along it. It works well paired with a Delta camp, giving you a dry, predator-heavy stop.
Savuti suits repeat safari-goers and photographers who want predators without the scale of a larger lodge. Children aged six and over are welcome, but families with children aged six to 12 must book a private vehicle. Some soft furnishings are due a refresh. The channel was little more than a trickle in the 2024 dry season, so expect water activities to depend on conditions when you travel. The camp is unfenced.
Wilderness Savuti sits on the Savute Channel in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a channel that flows and dries in long, unpredictable cycles. We recommend it for wild dog, lion and elephant, and it suits travelers who want a classic, unfussy tented camp with night drives and a sleep-out deck.
