The camp lies between the Khwai River and the Santantadibe Channel, looking over a large seasonal floodplain with two waterholes in front. The tented suites have indoor showers, and an extra-spacious family unit has its own splash pool. The main area includes a pool and a spa, and the pizza oven is popular with children. Guests fly from Maun on Wilderness Air to the camp's own airstrip.
Qorokwe offers day and night game drives, guided walks, boating and mokoro trips, plus outings to the Gomoti area. Water activities depend on season and flood levels, so check what will run on your dates. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, buffalo and red lechwe are all seen, and night drives can turn up aardvark, porcupine and genet. In a Botswana trip it works as an all-round camp, paired with a drier area such as Linyanti.
Qorokwe suits families, couples and anyone who wants variety without moving camps. Its family unit and relaxed rules on children's ages make it one of the easier Wilderness camps for families with younger kids, though activities such as walking, mokoro and boating carry their own minimum ages. The honest caveat is that the water activities are seasonal, so a camp in the permanent northern Delta is the surer choice if mokoro is your priority.
Wilderness Qorokwe is a contemporary camp on a 26,000-hectare private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve in the southeastern Okavango Delta. We recommend it for travelers who want land and water activities from one comfortable base, and for families, since Wilderness sets no minimum age here for families traveling privately.
