Little Mombo stands on raised wooden decks on Mombo Island, linked to Mombo Camp by a long boardwalk, and animals often walk beneath it. It has three tented suites and its own lounge, dining area, bar, pool, library and fire pit, with a spa between the two camps. Wilderness markets it for exclusive use by a single group, so it works like a private house with a full camp team.
This is a game-drive camp first. Drives cover the floodplains and woodland of Chief's Island, known for lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, hyena and large herds of plains game, and night drives were added in 2026. Mokoro and boat trips run only when the water level allows. In a Botswana trip, Little Mombo is the land highlight, best paired with a true water camp such as Jao, Jacana or Little Vumbura.
It suits a family or a small group of friends who want privacy and top-tier game viewing. Children over six are welcome, but those aged six to 12 need a private vehicle at extra cost. The caveats are a high price and limited water activities. Rhino were reintroduced to this area but have since been moved to safer areas, so they are not part of a stay here.
Wilderness Little Mombo is the three-suite sister camp to Mombo, at the northern tip of Chief's Island inside Moremi Game Reserve. We recommend it for game viewing on par with Mombo itself, and it suits a family or small group who want that wildlife with a camp of their own.
