The resort sits on the oceanfront at the northern end of Wailea, on Maui's sunny south shore, with the sandy beaches of Ulua and Mokapu a short walk along the coastal path. Rooms are spread across several towers and wings with ocean or garden views, and the grounds are built around a series of pools, including waterslides that children like.
Everything South Maui offers is close by. You can snorkel off the nearby beaches, take a boat to Molokini, see humpback whales from December to April, walk the Wailea coastal path, or drive up Haleakalā for sunrise. The Shops at Wailea and the restaurants along the strip are a short walk or ride away.
The Marriott suits families and groups who want a well-located, full-service resort at a more moderate level than the Four Seasons farther along the coast. It is big, and the pools can be busy in holiday weeks. Mark stayed here in 2018.
Wailea Beach Resort – Marriott, Maui is a large oceanfront resort on the Wailea coast of South Maui, with several pools, waterslides and the coastal path at its door. It is a practical, more relaxed choice for families who want the Wailea setting without the rates of the smaller luxury resorts.
