The hotel stands on the main plaza in Mountain Village, with an outdoor ice rink in front of it in winter. Rooms, suites and multi-bedroom residences have fireplaces and mountain views, and there is a spa, an outdoor pool and hot tubs, and a kids' program.
You ski straight from the hotel onto Telluride's slopes, which range from gentle groomers to steep terrain at the top of the mountain. A free gondola links Mountain Village with the town of Telluride, a Victorian mining town in a box canyon, in about 15 minutes. In summer there is hiking, mountain biking, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June and the Telluride Film Festival on Labor Day weekend.
The Madeline suits families and couples who want ski-in, ski-out convenience with a town close by. Mountain Village is quieter than Telluride itself in the evenings. Getting here takes effort: Montrose airport is about 90 minutes by road, and the small Telluride airport is weather-dependent.
The Madeline is a ski-in, ski-out hotel in Mountain Village, above the old mining town of Telluride. It is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection, with rooms and larger residences for families.
