Stein Eriksen Lodge

Deer Valley, Park City, Utah, USA

Stein Eriksen won Olympic gold in giant slalom at the 1952 Oslo Games and later moved to the United States, where he became the face of skiing at Deer Valley. The lodge carries his name and a Scandinavian look, with timber, stone and fireplaces. Rooms range from hotel rooms to multi-bedroom suites, and there is a spa, a heated outdoor pool and the Glitretind restaurant.

The lodge is ski-in, ski-out at Silver Lake, in the middle of Deer Valley's terrain, and a ski valet handles the equipment. Deer Valley is for skiers only, with no snowboarding. In summer the trails around Silver Lake are good for hiking and mountain biking, and Park City is a short drive down the hill.

Stein Eriksen Lodge suits families and multi-generational groups who want space and a traditional mountain feel. The decor is classic rather than modern, and rooms vary in style. Being mid-mountain, it is quiet in the evenings, with Main Street a drive away.

Stein Eriksen Lodge is a Norwegian-style ski lodge at Silver Lake, mid-mountain at Deer Valley. It is named for Stein Eriksen, the Norwegian Olympic champion who led skiing at Deer Valley for many years.
