Rosewood Phuket

Emerald Bay, Phuket, Thailand

Rosewood Phuket opened in 2017 on Emerald Bay, a small cove on Phuket's west coast just south of Patong. The pavilions and villas are spread through tropical gardens on the slope above the beach, most with their own pools, and the design uses local materials in a calm, contemporary way. The spa, Asaya, runs a broad wellness program.

The beach is the hotel's own cove, and there is snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding from the shore. The resort's boats run to the islands and bays around Phuket and into Phang Nga Bay, and Phuket's Old Town, with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses and food markets, is a good evening out. The restaurants put Thai cooking first.

Rosewood Phuket suits couples and families who want a modern resort with a strong kitchen. The cove is quiet, but Patong, the island's busiest nightlife town, is just over the hill. The hillside means buggies and steps. From about May to October the southwest monsoon brings rain and rougher seas.

Rosewood Phuket sits on Emerald Bay, a quiet cove just south of Patong, with pool pavilions climbing the hillside above the beach. It suits couples and families who want a modern, well-designed resort with good food, close to Phuket's restaurants but set apart from them.
