The camp is part of Nayara Resorts, next to its sister hotels Nayara Gardens and Nayara Springs, on the edge of the Arenal Volcano National Park area. The tents stand on raised platforms on the hillside, each facing the forest and the volcano, with an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool fed by the area's hot springs. Family and connecting tents are available, and there are larger residences for groups.
Ayla, the camp's restaurant, serves Mediterranean food with Middle Eastern touches and looks out over the infinity pool toward the volcano. There is also a spa, a gym and yoga. Guides lead nature walks and night walks to look for glass frogs, and the area is known for sloths, birds and blue morpho butterflies. From the camp you can hike around the volcano, cross the hanging bridges, zipline, go canyoning, kayak on Lake Arenal, or take day trips to Río Celeste and Caño Negro.
Nayara Tented Camp suits couples and families who want nature and comfort together. The camp is a drive of roughly 120 km from San José airport and about 140 km from Liberia, so most guests arrive by road. Arenal is a rainforest region, and rain is common through much of the year.
Nayara Tented Camp is a camp of large, permanent tents on a rainforest hillside facing Arenal Volcano, about 10 km from the town of La Fortuna. It suits couples and families who want a comfortable base in the forest with the volcano in view and the Arenal area's outdoor activities close by.
