Montage Kapalua Bay

Montage sits at the northern end of West Maui, on the point between Kapalua Bay and the open ocean. The accommodation is in one- to four-bedroom residences with kitchens, living rooms and large lanais, so it feels more like a private apartment than a hotel room. A large lawn and pool look out to Molokai across the channel.

Kapalua Bay is sheltered by lava points and is good for swimming and snorkeling much of the year. The Kapalua Coastal Trail runs along the shore, Honolua Bay, a marine conservation area with good snorkeling, is a short drive north, and the Kapalua golf courses are nearby. In winter, humpback whales are often seen from the resort.

Montage suits families, groups and anyone staying a week or more who wants space and a kitchen. It is a long drive from Kahului airport, and Lahaina, a few miles south, is still rebuilding after the 2023 wildfire, so shopping and dining nearby are more limited than before. The north shore of West Maui is also wetter and windier than the south.
