The resort opened in 2010 in a lodge-style building at Empire Pass. Rooms and suites are spacious, with fireplaces, and there is a large spa, a pool, a kids' program and several restaurants and bars. The ski valet stores your equipment and has it ready each morning.
You ski straight from the hotel onto Deer Valley's runs, and Deer Valley is for skiers only, with no snowboarding. Park City Mountain is next door. In summer the resort is a base for hiking and mountain biking from the door, outdoor concerts in the area and day trips into the Wasatch. Salt Lake City makes it an easy long weekend from most of the US.
Montage suits families and groups who want a full-service resort with everything on site. It is a big hotel with a busy feel in holiday weeks. Empire Pass is up the mountain, so Park City's Main Street is a short drive or shuttle away rather than a walk.
Montage Deer Valley is a large ski-in, ski-out resort at Empire Pass, high on the slopes of Deer Valley above Park City. It is about 45 minutes by road from Salt Lake City airport and works well for families year-round.
