Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe opened the hotel in 1954 around his family's finca, when Marbella was still a small fishing village. Today it has guest rooms, suites, bungalows and villas, many with their own gardens and pools, spread through gardens of hundreds of plant varieties running down to the beach. There is a beach club, two heated outdoor pools, a Thalasso Spa with a seawater pool, and a kids club in the old Hohenlohe family home.
You can play golf at the Marbella Club Golf Resort in the hills of Benahavís, visit Puerto Banús or old Marbella, or drive to Ronda and Seville. Málaga airport is an easy transfer. The Andalusian coast pairs well with Seville and Granada for a fuller Spain trip.
Marbella Club suits families and multi-generational groups who want a beach resort with space. It is open year-round, and the mild winters make it a good off-season option. Summer is busy and expensive, and the Golden Mile is built up, so it does not feel remote.
Marbella Club is a beachfront hotel set in subtropical gardens on Marbella's Golden Mile, founded by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe in 1954. It is the most relaxed of the grand Mediterranean resorts, and it works especially well for families.
