Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort

San José del Cabo, Los Cabos, Mexico

Las Ventanas sits on the tourist corridor between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. The suites are built in a Mexican style of whitewashed walls, tiled domes and carved wood, and most have large terraces facing the sea, many with their own plunge pools or rooftop terraces. A series of pools steps down through the gardens toward the beach.

Days can be slow or busy. You can take a boat out to the arch at Land's End, fish, dive or snorkel in the Cabo Pulmo area up the coast, play several golf courses nearby, or spend the day by the pools and in the spa. From about December to March, humpback whales are often seen from the shore and on boat trips.

Las Ventanas suits couples, honeymooners and families who want privacy and very attentive service. The sea along this stretch of coast is often too rough for safe swimming, so most people swim in the pools. Los Cabos is busy and built-up in places, and the summer and early autumn months bring heat and the risk of hurricanes.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso is a Rosewood resort on the Los Cabos corridor, with whitewashed adobe-style suites stepping down to the Sea of Cortez. Service is very personal and the suites are large. It suits couples who want a calm, design-led stay with the desert and the sea side by side.
