Hotel Jerome

Aspen, Colorado, USA

Jerome B. Wheeler, a partner at Macy's who invested in Aspen's silver mines, built the hotel in 1889, during the mining boom. It has been renovated several times since, and the rooms mix Victorian detail with modern comfort. The J-Bar has been a local gathering place for generations, and there is a heated outdoor pool.

The Silver Queen Gondola is a short walk away, and the hotel's shuttle runs to Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. In summer the town is busy with the Aspen Music Festival, the Aspen Ideas Festival and the Food & Wine Classic, and the Maroon Bells are a short drive away.

Hotel Jerome suits couples and families who want to be in the middle of town, with restaurants and shops on the doorstep. It is not ski-in, ski-out, so you will walk or take the shuttle each morning. The historic building means rooms vary in size and layout.

Hotel Jerome is Aspen's historic hotel, built in 1889 in the center of town and now part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. It is a few blocks from the gondola and has one of the town's best-known bars.
