Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro

Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Fasano opened in 2007 on Avenida Vieira Souto, the beachfront road of Ipanema, near the Arpoador end of the beach. Philippe Starck designed the interiors, with wood, leather and mid-century Brazilian pieces. Many rooms face the sea, and the rooftop pool looks west along the beach to the Dois Irmãos peaks and the favela of Vidigal.

The hotel's Italian restaurant and its bar are popular with locals as well as guests, and the beach service across the road brings chairs and umbrellas to the sand. From here you can walk to Arpoador for sunset, explore the shops and restaurants of Ipanema and Leblon, and take day trips to Sugarloaf, Corcovado and the Tijuca forest.

The Fasano suits couples and style-minded travelers who want to be in the heart of Ipanema. Standard rooms are on the small side, so we usually suggest an ocean-view room or suite. The rooftop is busy at sunset, and like any city beach Ipanema is crowded on weekends.

Hotel Fasano Rio de Janeiro is a stylish hotel on the Ipanema beachfront, designed by Philippe Starck, with a rooftop pool that looks along the beach to the Two Brothers peaks. It suits couples who want to stay in Ipanema, near Rio's best restaurants and shops.
