Everline Resort & Spa

Olympic Valley, Lake Tahoe, California, USA

The resort changed its name in March 2023, working with the Washoe Tribe, to drop a term offensive to Native Americans. It has rooms and suites, many with kitchens and fireplaces, a large spa, three outdoor pools, an ice rink in winter, a kids' program and several restaurants. Mark stayed here in 2021, when it was still the Resort at Squaw Creek.

An on-property chairlift gives ski-in, ski-out access to Palisades Tahoe, host of the 1960 Winter Olympics and now linked by gondola to Alpine Meadows. In summer the resort has an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., and the north shore of Lake Tahoe is about 15 minutes away. Reno-Tahoe airport is about an hour by road.

Everline suits families and groups who want lift access and plenty to do on site. It is a large resort with a lot of group and conference business, so it feels busier than the smaller hotels on this list. The Village at Palisades, with most of the valley's restaurants, is a short shuttle or walk away.

Everline Resort & Spa, formerly the Resort at Squaw Creek, is a large resort in Olympic Valley with its own chairlift into Palisades Tahoe. It took its new name in March 2023 and is part of the Destination by Hyatt brand.
