Delaire Graff Estate is on the Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with views over the Banghoek Valley, the Simonsberg and, on clear days, Table Mountain. Guests stay in stand-alone lodges set among gardens, from Garden and Luxury Lodges up to two Presidential Lodges and a four-bedroom Owner's Villa. More than 400 works from Laurence Graff's private collection are displayed across the estate.
The estate has its own winery and Wine Lounge for tastings, plus three restaurants: Delaire Graff Restaurant, Hōseki for Japanese food and Lorenzo's for Italian. The spa is a big part of the stay. Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are both a short drive, and Cape Town airport is about 50 minutes away, so it works at the start or end of a Cape trip.
Delaire suits couples, honeymooners and food and wine lovers who like a glossy, modern estate. It sits above the valley rather than in town, so plan on driving to restaurants elsewhere. The restaurants and tasting room are open to outside guests too, so the public areas are livelier than at a private lodge.
Delaire Graff sits on top of the Helshoogte Pass above Stellenbosch, with private lodges, a winery and Laurence Graff's art collection. We recommend it for couples who want big views, good food and a spa in the Winelands.
