The camp has nine airy en-suite tents, including one family tent, decorated in earthy tones and all looking out over the waterhole, where elephants come in to drink. There is a pool overlooking the same waterhole and Wi-Fi in camp. It shares the Linkwasha-Makalolo area with Linkwasha and Little Makalolo, close to the Ngamo Plains, which fill with plains game and predators in summer.
Twice-daily activities are included: game drives, guided walks and a visit to a local community. The camp also offers time with the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit and a conservation program that follows collared elephants. Bradfield's hornbill and racket-tailed roller are good birding targets around camp. Plan three nights, or combine it with a sister camp for a longer stay.
Davison's suits families, thanks to its family tent and pool, and travelers who want to walk as well as drive. Rates drop noticeably from November to December, but the bush is thicker and animals are more spread out once the rains begin. If walking is a priority, confirm that walks are running for your dates when you book.
Wilderness Davison's is a relaxed tented camp in Hwange's south-east, set among false mopane trees facing a waterhole. It offers guided walks alongside game drives and shares the private Linkwasha-Makalolo area with two sister camps.
