Chobe Game Lodge

Chobe riverfront, Chobe National Park

The lodge is a hotel-style property on the Chobe River, about 30 minutes by road from Kasane airport. All 44 rooms and suites face the river, from standard rooms to family suites and a honeymoon suite. It feels more like a hotel than a tented camp, with a large main building and a pool and terrace looking over the river, and it is Ecotourism certified.

The river is the main event. Game drives leave as the park gates open and return at closing, and boat cruises run in the morning and at sunset, both using silent electric vehicles and boats. Elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe and puku come down to the water, and lion and leopard are seen in the area. It is a natural stop between the Delta and Victoria Falls, which is about two and a half hours by road.

Chobe Game Lodge suits families and first-time safari travelers who want comfortable rooms and easy logistics. The Chobe riverfront is one of the busiest parts of any Botswana park, so expect other vehicles and boats at sightings. Drives keep to park hours, so there are no night drives of the kind you get in private concessions.

Chobe Game Lodge, part of Desert & Delta Safaris, is the only permanent lodge on the riverbank inside Chobe National Park. We recommend it for elephant viewing on the Chobe River and its all-female guiding team.
