Cheval Blanc Randheli

Randheli Island, Noonu Atoll, Maldives

Cheval Blanc Randheli opened in 2013 in Noonu Atoll, in the north of the Maldives, about 40 minutes from Malé by seaplane. The architect Jean-Michel Gathy designed it around clean lines, high ceilings and soft colors, and the villas are generous, over the water and on the island, each with its own pool. The spa sits on a separate small island.

Days are spent on the lagoon and the reef. There is snorkeling and diving, sailing and paddleboarding, and excursions to sandbanks and local islands. There are several restaurants, and the kids' club, Le Carrousel, is well set up, with activities for teenagers too.

Randheli suits families, couples and groups who want a polished, discreet stay with service to match. Rates are among the highest in the Maldives. The style is more formal than a barefoot resort, and the seaplane flies in daylight only, so late international arrivals need a night near Malé. The driest months are December to April.

Cheval Blanc Randheli is LVMH's Maldives hotel in Noonu Atoll, with large, pale villas over the lagoon and on the island. Service, design and food are very polished. It suits travelers who want the Maldives at its most refined, including families with older children.
